Working in Sweden

We have an in-house management company, which is a registered employer in Sweden. You would become an employee of the company and we would account for wages tax and social security based on your salary level. You would be introduced to our associate Swedish accountant who will provide support and assistance for local registration. The company will handle the collection and payment, of all local, and fiscal liabilities, connected with your contract.

EU nationals are allowed to work in Sweden without obtaining a work permit, however, if you are not a EU national then a permit will need to be obtained for the start of your contract and our Swedish associate will assist here.
All costs associated with permit application are not included in our fees and you would be expected to cover this additional cost.

You will also have to attend the local tax office to obtain your Swedish tax number, and there may be a need to register with the local Police, for population purposes only, again our Swedish associate will be able to help you on this matter once you have arrived in the country.

All Swedish taxes, social security and insurances associated with the contract earnings will be handled by Gems, in conjunction with our Swedish associates, and paid directly to the Swedish authorities on a regular and timely manner. We will account to you for all earnings over the term of the contract with monthly pay slips and accounting schedules provided for your records.

We will supply the contact details of the accountant and Gems will assist and help you every step of the way. We will also assist with providing the best possible advice for savings and investment opportunities and liaise with your preferred financial advisors. . If you require the services of an Independent Financial Advisor we would be happy to make you an introduction. GEMS do not receive commissions for successful introductions.
